2013 Beauty Goals

I'm ready for some change this year. No, really! I mean it! I love many areas/categories of my life, but want to take it up a notch and stay out of the safe zone. More specifically, beauty. Here's what I mean:

1. Try new, bold eyeshadow shades. I feel like a Boring Betty.
2. Master winged eyeliner. I can't tell you how many times I've f@#ked up repeatedly.
3. Quit playing it safe when it comes to nail art and polish. I'm a huge fan of nail art, textures, designs and all, but I'm not the type to go all out.
4. One shade in particular that I've never tried is nude! I know, right?!
5. After growing out my hair for several years, I think it's time for a little shake up. Layers and peek-a-boo highlights!

Makeup Fun

Over the weekend, my M.A.C makeup artist friend, Sherena Mercer, and I had a ton of fun. The type of fun I'm talking about includes dabbling with shadows, swirling powders, lining lids and blotting lips. As I approached her home, she warned me that she had a dramatic look in mind. I assured her that I was game for anything since I knew that her work would turn out fabulous. Girl, was I in for a treat!

So here's the dramatic transformation from start to finish:

Makeup Adhesives: Dior Velvet Eyes

There are some instances where I'll pat myself on the back. With lots of trial and error in my younger years playing around with makeup, I've pretty much become a master of my face! BUT! When it comes to liquid eyeliner, I've got to have plenty of makeup remover and q-tips on hand-- my shaky hands can create quite a disaster!

Thankfully, Dior Beauty is releasing an eyeliner adhesive called Dior Velvet Eyes. For dramatic and clean wings, simply stick on the wings on your lids and your set! They're scheduled to unveil the new product at Fashions Night Out at Dior's 57th St. boutique and are available for sale at sephora.com.
