Cranberry Love

As the leaves start to change shades and fall to the ground, that warm and fuzzy feeling of seasons changing from summer to fall arises and memories of cozying up next to the fire with a hot chocolate flood my mind.

What I also love about seasons changing are the sultry and warm fashion and beauty colors. One of my favorites this season is a deep cranberry hue, which has been majorly trending in stores and magazines this fall. Dark lips are the 'it' statement for beauty followed by cranberry accessories, dresses, and sweaters for fashion.

Check out some of my fave choices below:

2013 Beauty Goals

I'm ready for some change this year. No, really! I mean it! I love many areas/categories of my life, but want to take it up a notch and stay out of the safe zone. More specifically, beauty. Here's what I mean:

1. Try new, bold eyeshadow shades. I feel like a Boring Betty.
2. Master winged eyeliner. I can't tell you how many times I've f@#ked up repeatedly.
3. Quit playing it safe when it comes to nail art and polish. I'm a huge fan of nail art, textures, designs and all, but I'm not the type to go all out.
4. One shade in particular that I've never tried is nude! I know, right?!
5. After growing out my hair for several years, I think it's time for a little shake up. Layers and peek-a-boo highlights!

Want to shake things up in your beauty life? What are some of your goals? Let me know in the comment box!

Life's a Beach: Winter Vacation Inspiration

Playa Flamenco, Puerto Rico

A last minute trip to my island, Puerto Rico, has been eating away at me. Should I stay? Should I go? Who's gonna feed my cat? Really, $1,100.00 for a round-trip flight? All signs point to 'yes' but things get a little more complicated of course.

So, I decided to put a look together to help inspire me some more on my journey to the Caribbean. For an island that is almost 100% humidity 100% of the time, a maxi dress is an easy pick for it's effortless flow and airy-ness. Studded sandals in a deep blue add a hint of edge. Gold accessories create a glam feel and tastefully add lots of gleam and sheen. Pops of bright colors are undeniable for the Caribbean with orange polish and magenta lipstick. Top off the entire look with a straw fedora and it screams "I'm on vacation!"

Wow...I think I just typed myself into a decision. Yes.

Makeup Wish List

I like Christmas shopping for my family and friends, but I must admit that I like shopping for myself a teeny bit more. Am I alone on this one? Probably not.

Anyway, I was thinking about getting my close gal pals each a basket of little goodies. Makeup items are one of the goodies I put on the list. So as I'm combing the web for ideas, I started eyeballing doo dads that I want for Christmas! I've got to get over myself :)

Here are a few makeup items I'm lusting over:
1. Tarte Natural Lip Stain Pencil in Lust 2. M.A.C eye shadow in Sumptuous Olive  3. Clinique Black Honey Lip Duo 4. Josie Maran Argan Eye Shadow in Cinnamon 5. Butter London Lacquer in Jack the Lad 6. Bobbi Brown BB Cream 7. Urban Decay eye shadow in Half Baked 8. Urban Decay Urban Lash in Plush type
