Neighborhood Stroll

One of the best features about living in the East Bay is definitely the weather-- lots of sunshine, clear skies, and it will always be a minimum of 7 degrees warmer than SF. On this day I decided to meet up with one of my besties, Jessica, and have a wonderful Friday morning brunch at Crepevine in the Rockridge area of Oakland. While we were looking for parking, we cruised by beautiful craftsman and Spanish style homes with huge trees canopying over the streets. So she says, "Stop! Turn around. Let's take some photos real quick." And so we did.

So here are some shots of my simple look of the day:

Plain Jane: Old Navy white tank, Else black skinny jeans, Aerosoles leopard loafers, Clare Vivier leather envelope clutch.

Look of the Day: Crazy Striped Dress

Oh, it's amazing how a sunny day can make a girl wanna get dolled up to skip around town. Thank God this past Saturday wasn't too hot. I had the pleasure of meeting up with my oh-so-stylish, 'long lost' cousin (not really lost, but it had been a while since we'd seen each other) and have a lovely lunch on Lakeshore Avenue soaking in the sun.

Inspired by the weather, I chose a new, crazy striped dress I swooped up from a boutique, called Sway. I swear it's like my neighborhood Forever 21! On days that I want height without the pain of heels, I strap on my peep toe, espadrille wedges. They're almost flat, but four inches off the ground! I went simple with custom Bobbi J jewelry and studded earrings along with natural makeup, but with a punch of color on the lips.

I love my MK, but I'm craving a new look. Good thing it's my birthday next month ;)

Sunday Funday: Anniversary Edition in Cobalt Blue and Bright Orange

OH-EM-GEE I finally found some time to blog! I just started the Fashion Merchandise Marketing graduate program at FIDM San Francisco last week, so I'm getting adjusted to my new schedule and crazy workload. And let me tell ya, this ain't no joke!

Anyway, this past Monday was mine and my boyfriend's 6th anniversary! (If any one of you asks me when he's going to propose, I will personally punch you in the face! lol) So on Sunday, we decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather and have a celebratory brunch after we took care of our babies (our plants) followed by some intense go-kart racing-- we're adrenaline junkies like that.

I opted for a new, cobalt blue lace number from Express that I've been dyyyyiinngg to wear when the weather reached over 70 degrees along with BCBG studded sandals in orange. I had to show my excitement and love for spring some kind of way and this is the best route I know how-- through my clothes!

So go on and click for lots of shots of our beautiful, celebratory day...enjoy!

Weekend Adventures

Went a little camera crazy on Sunday when Pops came into town. The weather was absolutely amazing, everyone was cheery for the holiday weekend and I couldn't ask for more. What I love about hanging out with my dad is that we have no agenda to abide by. It's all about enjoying the present moment whether we're strolling down a busy shopping avenue, getting a bite to eat, sipping tea or coffee at a cafe, people watching, or taking a drive up the hills to reach the top and catch a pretty view of the bay.

Here are some shots of our lovely Sunday. Hope you enjoy!

Near Merritt College in Oakland. Found a plot of land for sale with amazing views of SF, bay and bridges for a small fortune of 800K.

Crazy wind going on here!

Passed a flower shop in Albany and found this beauty.

Mellow yellow.

Dad's veggie taco plate in Albany.

Water for me while on my 21-day cleanse.

Berkeley Marina. 1/4 mile long!

Hello Sun!

Me.

Richmond Bridge in the background.
At the end of Berkeley Marina. I wonder how long it was before the breakup?

See the Golden Gate?

After the long walk, we stopped at Skates on the Bay for a bite to eat/sip. Dad thinks he's 'too cool'.

Big hair don't care.

Mini Trip to the Botanical Garden

Every now and then I like to reconnect with nature in some way. Luckily for me, there's a botanical garden right next to my place in Oakland by Lake Merritt. It's a public garden filled with lots of flowers, trees, shrubs, veggie patches, waterfalls, ponds, bonsai trees and more. I had a free afternoon so, I packed my new Canon Rebel and tripod to take advantage of the sun and snap a few shots.

Scroll down for shots of the lovely garden and outfit looks by yours truly:
